So a bit about me and what I’m doing here.  I’m working in Brussels as an IT contractor.  I struggled to find out some of the information that I needed or that would have been very useful to me.  In addition I’ve been struck by a number of things which are just a little different here.  I thought I’d gather all of these musings together here and share.

I’m 41, married with a little boy of 3 and only get home to Cheshire at the weekends (and not every weekend at that) 🙁

When I’m not saving the world from IT disasters I like cycling (at the velodrome in Manchester, on the roads and mountain biking), motorbikes (I have my Harley Davidson here with me), photography (you can see a few of my more arty shots scattered through the pictures here but my favourites are of big game in Africa).

Before coming to Brussels my only experience of working abroad was six months in Johannesburg and a business trip to India!

I came across your blog today through the course of my research on Belgium, and as we are currently in the process of updating and expanding our Belgium expat guide, I was hoping I could convince you to share some of your insights with our site.
